Wise County, TX — December 15, 2025, Maeson Word was injured as the result of a car accident at around 10:32 p.m. along Highway 114.
According to initial details about the crash, it took place just west of Boyd near County Road 4581.
Investigators said that 18-year-old Maeson Word was in a GMC truck going along the highway. Due to factors not confirmed, the vehicle left its lane and crashed. Due to the accident, Maeson Word was seriously injured.
There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. Additional details are unavailable.

My hope is that investigations here were taken seriously and that authorities didn’t let the age of the driver affect their efforts. It would surprise folks how often authorities saw a young driver behind the wheel and just jumped to conclusions instead of doing a proper accident reconstruction.
This is why it can be important for families to follow up with authorities early on. If it seems authorities can address all questions and concerns adequately, it’s usually a sign they did everything by the book. But if details aren’t adding up, that may be a sign the crash needs a more thorough independent investigation to make sure nothing slipped through the cracks.
