How Did This Accident Occur?
A lot of folks think pedestrian accidents always come down to who had the right-of-way. That’s obviously important, but it’s just one factor of many that need attention. What was lighting like at the time? Is this area dangerous for pedestrians? Was the pedestrian clearly visible? Did alcohol contribute to the accident? Was the pedestrian or the driver distracted at all? These are just some questions I’d expect a proper accident reconstruction to answer. If authorities are working on getting those answers, that’s good. A lot of the time, though, families find that they need independent investigators to step in before they get the whole story.
If there are any locals reading, what’s this intersection like? Are pedestrian accidents common? Tell me your thoughts in the comments.
