Houston, TX — June 29, 2024, a woman was killed in a pedestrian versus hit-and-run car accident at approximately 10:00 p.m. along the Gulf Freeway.
According to authorities, a woman was on foot walking on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of Gulf Freeway, I.H. 45, in the vicinity of Clearwood Drive when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the woman was struck by a northbound Toyota Rav4 occupied by an 82-year-old man. The Toyota allegedly left the scene, though the man was later located. No charges having been filed against him at this time, according to reports.
The victim, however, did suffer reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident; she was declared deceased upon the arrival of emergency personnel. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
