Kaufman County, TX — February 27, 2024, Luther Holcomb was injured in a car accident at approximately 5:30 p.m. along U.S. Highway 175.
According to authorities, 59-year-old Luther Holcomb was traveling in a southeast bound Ford Ranger pickup truck along U.S. 175 at the F.M. 1895 intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, a Chevy Silverado which had been southwest bound on Farm to Market 1895 neglected to stop for the stop sign and entered the intersection at an unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the driver side of the Ranger and the front end of the Silverado. The collision caused the Ranger to overturn, rolling an unknown number of times before coming to a stop resting on its left side. The Silverado spun counterclockwise after the initial collision and it’s back right corner also made contact with the front left corner of a Ford Explorer which had been at a stop at the stop sign heading northeast on F.M. 1895.
Holcomb, who had apparently been ejected from the Ranger during the course of the accident, incurred suspected severe injuries as a result. He was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
