Argyle, TX — August 12, 2025, Luis Salazar was killed as the result of a work accident that took place along Prairie Ridge Road.
According to officials with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the incident took place in a residential area off US 377 and Cross Timbers Road.
Investigators said that 22-year-old Luis Salazar was doing concrete work at the time. Due to events which are not clear, authorities say there was a fall. Luis Salazar died as a result of the accident.
OSHA has not released specific details at this time, including whether any citations or penalties are being recommended.

I’ve been handling Texas fatal work accident cases for over 30 years now. Regardless of what happened here, there are two things that always remain consistent.
First and foremost, families deserve answers. OSHA may be in charge of investigating work accidents, but their priorities are not always aligned with the needs of a worker’s family. So whenever families feel they’re not getting the answers they deserve, it’s likely that relying solely on OSHA’s efforts may not be enough.
Second, Texas work fatality law is more complex than in any other state in the country. There is not always a guaranteed path to get families the help they need. Sometimes, there is a legal maze between them and a just resolution that involves going directly against the victim’s employer. That takes a lot of evidence and legal strategy to navigate. Again, that’s not something that OSHA usually works to help with.
With these things in mind, it’s important steps are taken as early as possible to equip a worker’s family with the knowledge, the evidence, and the tools they need. The earlier those steps are taken, the better.
