Gregg County, TX — January 15, 2024, Lottie McNichols and one other person were injured in a truck accident just after 10:00 a.m. along I.H. 20.
According to reports, 32-year-old Lottie McNichols and a 34-year-old man were traveling in an eastbound Toyota 4Runner along Interstate Highway 20 approaching the exit for State Highway 135 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that the snowy and icy weather conditions were likely a factor leading up to the accident. An 18-wheeler towing a trailer reportedly collided with the back of the Toyota before veering to the right and off of the roadway where it jackknifed and came to a stop. The Toyota, which was still on the roadway at that point, was then struck by a second 18-wheeler towing a trailer. This second collision pushed the Toyota onto the S.H. 135 exit ramp where it came to a stop.
Lottie McNichols incurred suspected severe injuries due to the wreck, while the 34-year-old man reportedly incurred minor injuries; they were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
