Accident Report

May 1, 2026, Lota Davis and a teenager were injured following a car accident at around 6:12 p.m. along Chaparral Road.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash happened at Chaparral Road and Yorkshire Drive, just off Rosewood Drive.

According to officials, 51-year-old Lota Davis was in a Mazda going southwest along Chaparral. A Nissan Altima was going southeast on Yorkshire. Authorities say that the Nissan failed to yield, and the vehicles crashed as a result.

Due to the accident, Lota Davis was seriously injured. A 15-year-old in Davis’s vehicle had moderate injuries. No other injuries were reported.

How Did This Accident Occur?

If it’s true that one of the vehicles failed to yield here, that may sound pretty open-and-shut. But it’s always important to find out exactly what led up to the crash and if there were any extenuating circumstances.

For example, there’s a big difference between a driver just being inattentive and a driver who’s drunk.
