Palestine, TX — April 20, 2026, Loretta Tolar was killed in a car accident at about 11:30 a.m. on State Highway Loop 256.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2020 Kia Optima was turning left from Trail Hollow Lane when it collided with an eastbound 2013 Hyundai Sonata.
Kia driver Loretta Tolar, 77, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the report.
The Hyundai driver, a 27-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries, the report states.
