Ward County, TX — March 1, 2024, a minor was killed while Loretta Keleher Wills and Isaac Mendoza were injured in a car accident just before 9:30 p.m. along I.H. 20.
According to authorities, a Cadillac CTS occupied by Isaac Mendoza was disabled and facing southbound blocking both of the eastbound lanes of Interstate Highway 20 in the vicinity of Ranch Road 1219 when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the Cadillac was struck by an eastbound Toyota Highlander SUV occupied by 49-year-old Loretta Keleher Wills and a 14-year-old girl. The front-end of the Highlander reportedly struck the right side of the Cadillac.
The 14-year-old girl incurred fatal injuries as a result of the wreck. Mendoza and Wills both sustained suspected severe injuries, as well. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
