How Did This Accident Occur?

Was the Toyota driver fatigued or distracted? Did the Kia stop suddenly? Did the Toyota have a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism? I don’t claim to know the answer to these questions, but these are the kind of things authorities must consider as they investigate this crash.

Investigators will work to reconstuct this accident by poring over physical evidence, witness statements, vehicle data and any available video footage, while cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time.

A forensic examination of the vehicles will be needed if authorities suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash. Most law enforcement agencies do not have the time or training for such inspections, but the Kia driver and her family deserve to know as much as possible about what caused this accident.
