Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

My hope here is that investigators didn’t let the victim’s age impact their investigations. Generally, investigators will consider all kinds of possible factors, including things like mechanical defects, road hazards, medical conditions, and faulty brakes or tires. But sometimes, people see a young driver, and they just assume the driver was being reckless. Regardless of what happened, the evidence should be allowed to speak for itself. That’s true enough following any serious accident. A crash like this is only more deserving of as much prudence as possible.
