When it comes to single-vehicle accidents, people are often quick to assume things will be open-and-shut. In reality, these accidents can be incredibly challenging because they don’t often get the attention they deserve. Since authorities don’t see this type of accident as a high priority, they may fail to answer some of the more complex questions accident reconstructions look into.
Were there mechanical defects with the vehicle? Issues with the road itself? Was alcohol involved? Was there another driver who fled the scene? Did a tire fail? Were medical conditions involved? Likely or not, these possibilities need to be considered thoroughly. Even if something more common, like distraction or fatigue, led to the crash, it’s not worth the risk of letting something important slip through the cracks. Besides, it’s best not to go around looking for someone to blame when we can just let the evidence speak for itself.
