Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Single-vehicle wrecks can be a lot more challenging than folks may realize. A simple reason for that is authorities don’t always give them the attention they need. While things like distraction, speed, and alcohol are common, there are other possibilities to consider which require a more in-depth analysis.

Was there a vehicle defect? Did airbags go off? Was someone illegally over-served by a bar? Is there an issue with the roadway that locals have expressed concerns about? Did missing signage or insufficient lighting play a role? Common or not, accident reconstructions need to include these questions, otherwise something important might slip through the cracks. That’s why I have to wonder what steps are being taken here to ensure that doesn’t happen.
