Lekiel Carmouche Injured in Car Accident in Harris County, TX

It appears that 47-year-old Lekiel Carmouche was in a Chevy Impala going westbound on F.M. 1960. While attempting a left turn, the Impala collided nearly head-on with an eastbound Chevy Cruze. Due to the collision, Lekiel Carmouche had apparently serious injuries. The other driver didn’t appear to be injured.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Did authorities look into why the victim’s injuries were so serious while the other driver, in a similar vehicle, had no injuries? A disparity between injuries like this can sometimes be a sign that a vital safety feature failed to function properly or simply wasn’t present during the accident. It’s possible there’s a reasonable explanation here, of course, but a possible defect isn’t something to take lightly. Not only would those affected deserve answers, but bringing the issue to light could prevent others from being harmed or even killed in the future. Since that’s not the sort of thing authorities are usually equipped to handle on their own, I’d be glad to hear they were able to get a clear explanation here.
