Accident Report

Harris County, TX — March 20, 2026, Leah Kelly was injured in a car accident at about 9:30 p.m. on Crosby Huffman Road/F.M. 2100.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2009 Ford F-150 was heading north when it collided with a southbound 2018 Ram 2500 that was turning left onto Old Atascocita Road.

A backseat passenger in the Ram, 20-year-old Leah Kelly, was seriously injured in the crash south of Huffman, according to the report. The other three people in the pickup were not hurt.

The Ford driver was not injured, the report states.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Harris County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

It is not clear from initial reports which vehicle had the right of way at this intersection, so that is one thing authorities must sort out in their investigation. They also must figure out why this crash happened. Was one of the drivers fatigued or distracted? Was one of the vehicles speeding? Did either pickup have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism?

Investigators must answer these questions so the injured passenger and her family will know how this crash unfolded.

The answers will come from poring over physical evidence, witness statements, cell phone records, data from the vehicles and any available video footage, but an outside expert likely will be required if investigators suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this accident. A forensic examination needs to be done in a laboratory setting, something that most law enforcement agencies don’t have access to, in my experience.
