How Did This Accident Occur?
A lot of the time when someone runs a light this early in the morning, it’s a sign that they were under the influence of alcohol. That might seem like something authorities would immediately report, but sometimes the investigations aren’t so straight-forward.
For example, I’ve been a part of hundreds of drunk driving investigations that traced back to a negligent alcohol provider unlawfully over-serving that driver. That’s not something that a quick glance at the crash scene can really address. It takes extensive effort behind the scenes to ensure all wrongdoers involved answer for their respective actions.
Maybe something similar happened here, or maybe other factors led to this driver allegedly running a traffic light. What matters is that those affected by the crash know that someone is getting them the answers they need. If authorities can do that, that’s good. If not, then independent professionals can step in and fill in the blanks.
