May 16, 2026, Laquita Lee was injured following a car accident at around 9:31 p.m. along Chimney Rock Road.
Initial statements on the crash say that it happened in the area of the Chimney Rock Road and Val Verde Street intersection.
Authorities said that 36-year-old Laquita Lee was in a Chevy Malibu going northbound on Chimney Rock. A Chevy Cruze was going northbound, as well. Authorities say that the Cruze crashed into the back of the Malibu.
Due to the accident, Laquita Lee reportedly had serious injuries. No other injuries were reported. At this time, additional details about the crash are unavailable.

As much as I push back against the old myth that rear-end collisions are automatically the rear driver’s fault, the reality is that it usually is.
