Texarkana, TX — April 14, 2024, Lander Smith Jr. was injured as the result of a motorcycle accident at around 10:28 p.m. along Gibson Lane.
Investigators said that the incident happened in the area of the Gibson Lane and Pavilion Parkway.
Authorities say that 49-year-old Lander Jethro Smith Jr. was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle going westbound on the roadway. The vehicle reportedly hit a deer, and Lander Smith was thrown from the motorcycle

There’s not much you can do about deer crossing the road, but there are things we can do in terms of general safety. This might be an opportunity to consider if there should be better lighting or signage in this area.
