Houston, TX — January 4, 2026, Lakisha Burns was injured as the result of a hit-and-run accident at around 10:00 p.m. along Loop 610.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened at the Loop 610 and I-10 interchange.
According to officials, 50-year-old Lakisha Burns was in a Volkswagen Tiguan going northbound along the freeway. While doing so, a pickup apparently failed to maintain its lane, and the vehicles crashed. The pickup then left the scene.

Did authorities ever locate the driver involved in this accident? If not, it might help to put out more information to the public. Someone may be able to connect new dots that lead to an identity and some accountability. I’ve seen hit-and-runs go cold for months without progress only for a member of the community to come forward and clear things up. The same could happen here with the right efforts.
