Around August 14, 2026, one person died as the result of an accident on the job that happened off County Road 551.

According to OSHA officials, the incident allegedly involved “Lakeland Rv Ranch And Campground, Llc”, and the address of the incident appears to be for Lakeland RV Ranch and Campground.

How Did This Accident Occur?

I certainly won’t speculate about this incident without more evidence. OSHA investigations can follow anything from a vehicle accident to a fall to an unforeseeable medical emergency. What’s important is making sure that the worker’s loved ones are kept in the loop, and that’s where I often see authorities drop the ball.

A lot of people understandably think OSHA is there to get answers and find out what caused an accident for the victim’s loved ones. In reality, they’re there to look for rule violations and recommend penalties. Keeping the family in the loop tends to fall pretty low on their list of priorities. This is why a lot of the families who call me about fatal work accidents are still looking for answers weeks or months after the accident.

This is why it’s important for a worker’s family to be proactive and follow up with authorities as early and as much as possible. If they feel authorities are giving them satisfactory responses and addressing their concerns, then that’s good. But if they don’t, then families can bring in independent investigators who can focus on their needs. What steps may be necessary here isn’t for me to say, but I don’t see any reason right now why authorities would treat this incident differently than normal.
