Dallas County, TX — October 20, 2024, La Darius Mathews was injured following a single-car accident at approximately 3:00 a.m. along I.H. 635.
According to authorities, 30-year-old La Darius Mathews was traveling in a northbound Kia Optima on Interstate Highway 635 in the vicinity north of Seagoville Road when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Kia failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered to the left, leaving the roadway and colliding with a concrete retaining wall. Following that, it continued northward, overturning at some point and rolling an unknown number of times before coming to a stop resting on its wheels.
Mathews suffered serious injuries due to the wreck, according to reports. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
