A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2020 Volkswagen Jetta overturned after colliding with a 2021 Toyota Corolla while trying to pass as both vehicles were heading west.
Volkswagen driver Kyle Gilman, 32, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.
The Toyota driver, an 18-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries, while her three passengers were not hurt, the report states.
