West Odessa, TX — May 28, 2026, Kimberly Kennedy was killed in a truck accident at about 8 p.m. on State Highway 302.
Authorities said a westbound 2004 Peterbilt semi-truck allegedly failed to yield while turning left onto West Yukon Avenue, causing an eastbound 2024 Kia Sportage to crash into its trailer.
Kia driver Kimberly Kay Kennedy, 49, of San Angelo died at the scene of the West Odessa crash, according to authorities.
The truck driver, who was not injured, is not facing any charges or citations at this time, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Ector County crash.

Initial reports say this crash happened because the semi-truck failed to yield, but that isn’t the final word on this crash.
