UPDATE (March 16, 2024): The victim who was injured as a result of this accident has been identified as Kenneth Walker Jr., of Killeen.
Killeen, TX — March 8, 2024, one person was injured in a single-car rollover accident just before 9:45 p.m. along East Central Texas Expressway.
According to authorities, a man was traveling in a westbound SUV on Central Texas Expressway in the vicinity of WS Young Drive when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that the SUV was traveling at excessive speeds leading up to the accident. It reportedly veered off of the roadway and traveled along the shoulder for some distance before driving through a drainage ditch and entering South WS Young Drive. It apparently crossed the road and entered another drainage ditch where it overturned onto its left side.
The occupant was allegedly entrapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated upon the arrival of emergency personnel. He was then flown to an area hospital in order to receive immediate treatment for the suspected critical injuries he incurred as a result of the crash. No other injuries have been reported.
