Houston, TX — January 30, 2024, Kenia Nevarez was injured following an alleged hit-and-run accident at around 9:30 p.m. along Sakowitz Street.
Investigators said in preliminary statements that the accident happened at the intersection of Sakowitz Street and Salina Street.
It appears that 26-year-old Kenia Nevarez was riding on a Honda 4-wheeler being driven eastbound on Salina. At Sakowitz, it appears a northbound Honda CR-V failed to yield at a stop sign, crashing with the 4-wheeler. Nevarez was thrown from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries, according to authorities.
Authorities allege that the CR-V driver left the scene, but Harris County officials released statements that driver has been charged for failure to control speed. Right now, additional details about the accident are unavailable.
