Morris County, TX — November 15, 2025, Kendrix Douglas and two others were injured after a car accident around 10:03 p.m. along FM 250.

Authorities say that the accident happened between Lone Star and Hughes Springs, at the intersection of FM 250 and Hospital Road.

Initial reports said that 26-year-old Kendrix Douglas was in a Dodge Charger going eastbound. A Chevy Equinox was going southbound. The vehicles crossed paths, then collided.

Due to the accident, Kendrix Douglas was seriously injured. Two people from the Chevy had apparently moderate injuries. Right now, additional details remain unconfirmed.

After any serious car accident in a rural area like this, every piece of evidence possible is important to preserve. There aren’t always witnesses or nearby businesses which can reliably help authorities with an impartial account of what happened. This is where electronic evidence is often crucial.

Most modern vehicles these days store valuable data in their Engine Control Modules, or ECMs. It’s like a black box that can show things like speed and even braking and steering inputs leading up to the crash. Too often, though, authorities overlook this evidence, allow vehicles to be removed to the wreck yard, and the evidence can be ultimately be lost if no one goes to pull the data.

So while there are countless factors that need attention after a car wreck, I often see electronic evidence as a canary in the coal mine. If authorities have taken steps to download and preserve that evidence, that’s good. But if they haven’t, then it raises questions about what else they may have overlooked.
