Wichita County, TX — September 30, 2024, Kendrick Manuel was killed as the result of a car accident at around 10:26 a.m. along Ashton Road.
According to officials, the incident happened near the intersection of Ashton Road and Farm-to-Market 1177, southeast of Burkburnett.
Authorities said that 41-year-old Kendrick Rashaud Manuel was in a Chevy Silverado that was going southbound on Ashton. For reasons not confirmed right now, the vehicle ran off the side of the road where it crashed into an electrical pole. Then, the pickup overturned.
Due to the crash, Kendrick Manuel was killed. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. At this time, no further information is available.

Some folks think single-vehicle wrecks are simple because there’s just the one vehicle involved. In reality, they can be incredibly complex. I get calls all the time from people who feel they’re not getting clear answers from the authorities, and many of those calls involved single-vehicle accidents. Sometimes, police just don’t take the time to give these crashes proper attention because departments see them as a low priority. Other times, they might make mistakes due to a lack of proper equipment or training. Regardless, when a family is left with unanswered questions and doubts, it’s likely a sign that investigations aren’t thorough enough.
That’s one of the reasons independent accident reconstructionists are a more reliable source of information after crashes like this. They have special training, they can dedicate as much time as needed for a given accident, and they often have access to equipment officers don’t. Even police departments may rely on their services if they know they don’t have the tools for more complex possible factors, such as vehicle defects, road design flaws, or securing electronic data from a vehicle.
