Accident Report

Collin County, TX — August 4, 2026, Kaysie Sparling was killed in a truck accident at about 5:15 p.m. on F.M. 1378/Southview Drive near Lucas.

Authorities said a 2020 Chevrolet Spark was heading east on Osage Lane when it allegedly ran a stop sign, colliding with a northbound 2024 Kenworth semi-truck.

Chevrolet driver Kaysie Sparling, 55, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to authorities.

The truck driver was not hurt, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Collin County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Initial reports say the Chevrolet caused this crash by running a stop sign, but at this point we don’t know why. Was the driver distracted? Did her car have an issue with its brakes? Was the stop sign in the proper location? That may seem like an odd question, but I worked a crash once that happened after a construction crew removed a stop sign while working at an intersection, then neglected to put it back.
