As straight-forward as these initial details may seem, things are rarely so simple. Accident investigations shouldn’t always be just about finding charges to file. They should also be about setting up the victims and families involved with the best possible chance to get a proper resolution. Sometimes, authorities can ensure that. Other times, it takes more thorough independent investigations. Either way, preliminary statements like this rarely tell the whole story.
