Harris County, TX — March 3, 2024, Karen Bedoya was injured following a car accident at around 6:00 p.m. along Townhall Court.
Authorities said they were called to the cul-de-sac off Townhall Lane, which appears to be a neighborhood in the Katy area off the corner of Grand Parkway and Morton Road.

According to officials, 56-year-old Karen Bedoya was in a Toyota Camry on the cul-de-sac, which appears to have a median with a tree in the center. Details suggest that Bedoya’s vehicle was going counter-clockwise at the time when the vehicle somehow went off the right side of the curve, hit a mailbox, then crashed into a tree. Bedoya was reported to have serious injuries as a result of the crash. Authorities did not confirm any other details about the accident.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If it’s true there were serious injuries here, that would strike me as rather odd. For crashes with details like these, someone in a functioning, modern vehicle will usually be more or less okay. Serious injuries are typically reserved for far more severe accidents than what’s described here. Now, there could be a reasonable explanation for this, but my concern is the possibility something out of the ordinary the driver had no control over caused these apparently serious injuries. That’s not the sort of thing that typically falls within the scope of a police investigation, so I’m wondering if there could be more to this story.
