Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of the biggest challenges with discussing single-vehicle wrecks like this is convincing people that it’s possible factors beyond the driver’s control led to the crash. Our firm has received many calls over the years from victims and families that are proof of that.
Mechanical defects, road design flaws, bars over-serving people, tire failure, medical conditions, objects in the road, hit-and-runs, lack of signage or lighting—these things have happened before, and they’ll happen again. That’s why prudent investigators consider these possibilities just as they would things like speeding or distracted driving, for example. Anything short of that could leave unanswered questions.
