Austin, TX — September 25, 2024, Kameron Hartman was killed as the result of a hit-and-run accident at around 9:30 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr.
According to initial statements from police officials, the incident took place in the area of the East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Springdale Road intersection.
Investigators said that 28-year-old Kameron Hartman was walking at the time and attempting to cross the roadway. While doing so, it appears two vehicles struck Hartman. One of them fled the scene. Due to the accident, Hartman was killed. Authorities have not located the second vehicle at this time.

Hopefully authorities are able to release more information to the public about this other vehicle. More often than not, someone is able to connect the dots and come forward to help authorities identify that person. Once that happens, they can take steps not just to see there are consequences for them fleeing but also for whatever it was they didn’t want authorities to find out about. If nothing else, the victim’s loved ones deserve to know there’s going to be closure and accountability for what happened.
