Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If the allegations here are true, did authorities ever look into where the drunk driver got their alcohol from? In Texas, bars and other providers can be responsible if they unlawfully over-serve someone who then causes an accident due to their intoxication. It’s very common, yet I too often see authorities move once they have a drunk driver to blame. Making sure all wrongdoers are held accountable should always be a goal of an accident investigation after a drunk driving crash. Did that ever happen here?
