Accident Report
May 30, 2026, June Kemp and one other were injured following a car accident at around 10:12 a.m. along Highway 195.
Investigators said that the accident happened between Killeen and Florence. 51-year-old June Kemp was a passenger in a Mercedes-Benz going northbound on the highway. A Dodge Challenger was going southbound. Authorities say that the Dodge failed to yield, and the vehicles collided as a result.
June Kemp reportedly sustained serious injuries in the crash. The Mercedes-Benz driver had moderate injuries. Authorities recommended charging the Dodge driver for failure to yield.
How Did This Accident Occur?
This question may seem asked and answered because authorities recommended citing one of the drivers for failure to yield. Even if the allegations are true, though, it’s important to have the full story of what happened. There could be vastly difference implications depending on why that driver failed to yield.
For example, a crash caused by someone texting and driving is typically straight forward. Securing phone records can help prove that the driver was on their phone when the accident occurred. Conversely, a driver failing to yield due to missing or obstructed signage could call for investigations into roadway maintenance or design or a company, if an obstruction is from a nearby business. If the latter situation only gets a passing glance, important evidence could slip through the cracks, making it more difficult to get the victims a proper resolution.
So, whatever happened here, it’s my experience that crashes need serious, thorough accident reconstructions even when circumstances seem straight forward. That helps ensure there are no gaps in the story, and victims and families can move forward as prepared as possible.
