There are obviously some concerning details about this crash following preliminary reports. However, a key detail stands out to me which I haven’t seen any of the news mention.

Based on the location described in reports, this crash seems to have taken place either at an uncontrolled median that leads directly to an on-ramp for main lanes of US 6 or an intersection with the 6th Avenue service road which has a traffic light. This is important because there is a big difference between a bus turning at a controlled, lit intersection and a bus cutting across oncoming lanes at a median.

It might be good for authorities to clear up that detail. As people read about the new details coming out about this crash, knowing this information could help them keep the whole story in perspective so they don’t simply jump to hasty conclusions.
