Taylor County, TX — May 28, 2024, Juanita Cherry was injured following a pedestrian versus car accident at approximately 6:00 p.m. along Santos Street.
According to authorities, 74-year-old Juanita Cherry was on foot walking from her house toward her Mazda which was legally parked on Santos Street just north of the 3rd Street intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a Dodge Journey failed to maintain control, veering into the residential yard area and striking both Cherry and the unoccupied Mazda. Cherry incurred reportedly severe injuries as a result of the accident; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
