Potter County, TX — June 2, 2024, Juan Pacheco was injured following a motorcycle accident that happened at around 7:30 p.m. along Interstate 40.
According to officials, the crash took place along westbound lanes of the interstate just west of Amarillo.
Investigators said that 43-year-old Juan Manuel Pacheco was on a motorcycle traveling along I-40. Somehow, the motorcycle veered to the left and crashed along the shoulder. Pacheco sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. No further information about the crash can be confirmed right now.

Something that concerns me with crashes like this is that they don’t always get proper attention. I’ve found that both with the single-vehicle wrecks and motorcycle accidents, people are less willing to believe there’s even a small chance the driver didn’t do anything wrong. Mechanical defects, road design flaws, debris in the road, tire failure, medical emergencies—folks somehow forget all of those possibilities when a victim was on two wheels. Obviously, driver error is common, and I wouldn’t suggest overlooking it. But at the very least, investigations should be able to rule out the possibility of factors the driver may not have had control over. Otherwise, something important might slip through the cracks.
