Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
It’s always serious to see authorities allege possible violations relating to a fatal accident. However, even if those allegations are true, that doesn’t necessarily make things open-and-shut for a worker’s loved ones. Texas work fatality law is more complex than in any other state in the country. As a result, it often takes a lot more than just OSHA to help a family navigate that legal maze and get a resolution that’s best for their needs. So if the only thing that ever happened here was a typical OSHA investigation, there could be a lot more to the story.
