Liberty County, TX — September 24, 2023, Juan Magana Sr. was killed following a loose trailer wheel accident at around 7:35 p.m. along Highway 105.
Preliminary statements said that the crash took place southeast of Cleveland on Highway 105 (Highway 321/East Houston Street).
Investigators said that 42-year-old Juan Magana Sr. was in a Toyota Corolla going eastbound along the highway. While rounding a curve, it appears that a trailer being pulled by a truck in the westbound lane swung left of center, hitting a Lincoln MKZ driving ahead of Magana. One of the wheels on the trailer came off due to the collision, then crashed through Magana’s windshield, hitting and killing him as a result.
Authorities did not report any other injuries resulting from the accident. It’s also unclear if they ever considered or filed charges or citations. No further information about the crash can be confirmed.
