San Antonio, TX — January 26, 2026, Guillermina Pinelo Hinojosa and Juan Hinojosa were killed due to a house fire accident at 11:00 p.m. on San Dario Avenue.
Initial statements from officials say that the accident happened off the corner of the South San Dario Avenue and West Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard intersection.
Emergency responders arrived to find the home on fire. After quelling the fire, firefighters removed Guillermina Pinelo Hinojosa and Juan Hinojosa from the home. They both reportedly died following transport to the hospital.

When it comes to house fires, people are sometimes quick to jump to conclusions. But these incidents can involve anything from gas leaks to defective appliances to faulty wiring to poor installations or repairs. It takes a careful inspection of the evidence to pin those sorts of things down or otherwise rule them out. Hopefully investigators are working quickly but thoroughly so the victims’ loved ones can get clear answers.
