Upton County, TX — June 15, 2024, Josue Jurado Garza was killed following a hit-and-run truck accident shortly before 2:45 p.m. along S.H. 349.
According to authorities, 25-year-old Josue Garza was traveling in a southbound Kia on State Highway 349 in the vicinity south of F.M. 2401 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound Mack truck with a trailer in tow occupied by a 25-year-old man failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered onto the right shoulder before being overcorrected into the southbound lanes of the highway. There, it was involved in a collision with the oncoming Kia. The Mack truck allegedly fled the scene of the accident, the man inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. Garza incurred fatal injuries as a result of the hit-and-run accident and was declared deceased at the scene. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time.
