How Did This Accident Occur?
Initial reports appear to attribute this crash to high winds, but the weather is a factor in accidents, not the cause, in my experience. Did the driver struggle to handle the truck in the wind, or did its load shift and affect the truck’s handling? Investigators should consider these options as they pore over witness statements, evidence from the scene, data from the truck and any available video of the crash. Looking into all possible scenarios will help them zero in on what happened.
