Pulaski County, AR — March 31, 2025, Joshua Meredith was killed due to an alleged hit-and-run accident at around 8:45 p.m. along Arch Street Pike.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at Arch Street Pike and Bailey Road, south of the city.

ASP officials say that 32-year-old Joshua Meredith was reportedly on the shoulder along Arch Street at the time. While there, authorities say a vehicle struck Meredith, then left the scene. Joshua Meredith was killed as a result.
As of April 9, authorities say they’ve arrested a driver for Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Death. No further information is available right now.

If the allegations against this driver are true, then it’s at least progress that a runaway driver is being held accountable. However, it’s important investigations continue into why the driver left the scene. In my experience, details often show there was something specific they wanted to hide from authorities. Drunk driving, for example, can be a common reason drivers flee the scene. Simply put, people rightfully want to see accountability after hit-and-run accidents. That should include any mistakes that may have contributed to the accident itself. Are authorities here looking into that?
