How Did This Accident Occur?

A lot of people just look at single-vehicle crashes and assume the driver must have done something wrong. It is true that things like distracted driving and fatigue are common in these situations. However, accident reconstructions need to be thorough enough to include even uncommon possible factors.

Was there a tire blowout? A medical emergency? Issues with brakes or steering? Problems with the road itself? A lack of lighting or signage? Some other reckless driver who left the scene?

In my experience, investigations tend to yield the best results when they consider all of these factors, even if it’s just to ultimately rule them out. When investigations are too quick or too shallow, important information can easily slip through the cracks. Hopefully steps have been taken here to ensure that doesn’t happen.
