How Did This Accident Occur?

A crash on the highway between two cars is usually due to something common like distracted driving, unsafe speeds, or following too closely. However, I always want to know accident investigators are considering less common possibilities, as well. Even something like a vehicle defect needs attention. The worst case scenario is investigators rule it out and fill in some gaps in the story. The best case scenario is they catch crucial evidence which could have otherwise slipped through the cracks.

If authorities here are working with that same mindset, that would be good to hear. It’s just not something I’d ever take for granted, having seen countless police reports which basically began and ended at the crash scene. I’d be pleased to see otherwise here.
