Bastrop County, TX — December 14, 2025, Jose Rodriguez Sr. was injured following a car accident at around 9:20 p.m. along Pleasant Grove Road.
According to initial details about the crash, it took place outside of Elgin north of FM 3000.
It appears that 59-year-old Jose Rodriguez Sr. was in a Chevy Camaro going northeast along Pleasant Grove Road. In events not clear, the vehicle left its lane, and it crashed. Jose Rodriguez reportedly had serious injuries due to the accident.

With single-vehicle wrecks, one of the most common concerns I hear from folks is they want to be sure their side of the story is told fairly. That’s perfectly reasonable, but it’s unfortunately not something authorities always guarantee.
I’ve had countless cases over the years where it turned out authorities missed crucial details or jumped to conclusions instead of doing proper, thorough accident reconstructions. That usually requires independent investigators stepping in to look things over so they can find out if anything important slipped through the cracks.
If further investigations here showed that authorities did their due diligence on got all the facts, that would be good to hear. But if it turned out there was more to this story that authorities failed to address, it would be far from the first time.
