Hidalgo County, TX — April 11, 2024, Jose Rangel Jr. was injured due to a hit-and-run accident around 12:29 a.m. along Interstate 2.
Preliminary investigations about the accident say that it happened in the area of Salinas Road along westbound lanes of the freeway.
According to officials, 43-year-old Jose Rangel Jr. was on a Suzuki motorcycle going along I-2. Another motorcycle was going the same direction when it reportedly failed to maintain its lane. As a result, the Suzuki crashed, seriously injuring Jose Rangel.
The other motorcyclist reportedly left the scene. It’s unclear if authorities identified that driver.

I’m surprised there wasn’t more about this released publicly. One of the best tools investigators have after a hit-and-run is the community. Someone is bound to connect dots authorities couldn’t even now, my hope is that there can be some accountability if there hasn’t been already behind the scenes.
