Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

This is a good example of what a lot of people learn about OSHA one way or another. Months after an accident, and their statements amount to little more than a mere acknowledgement that something happened. People might think that’s just what the public sees. Surely, the family gets more information behind the scenes. That’s not always true.

I’ve been handling fatal work accident cases for over 30 years. A lot of the time people seek out help precisely because authorities aren’t giving them any clear answers, and they’re rightfully tired of waiting. Simply put, Texas has the most complex work fatality laws in the whole country. Families deserve to know they’re have the evidence and the tools to navigate that legal maze. If OSHA and other authorities can’t give them that, it’s only reasonable they’d seek out help elsewhere.
