Accident Report

March 21, 2026, Jorgeevelio Barrosorubio was killed and Adam Erbach was injured after a car accident at around 5:59 a.m. on I-40.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash happened along eastbound lanes of the interstate near Crystal Hill.

The Arkansas Department of Public Safety said that 26-year-old Jorgeevelio Barrosorubio was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. From behind, a GMC reportedly crashed with the motorcycle. Jorgeevelio Barrosorubio reportedly sustained fatal injuries as a result.

The other driver, identified as 58-year-old Adam Erbach, reportedly was injured. Conditions were apparently dry at the time of the accident. No further information available at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

To be rather blunt, a vehicle hitting someone from behind on the interstate is usually a sign the rear driver was going too fast or not paying attention to the roadway. Maybe that’s what led to this accident.

However, I’ve always pushed back against the old myth that drivers are automatically responsible when they rear-end someone. The law is simply more nuanced than that. There are situations where that would be a ludicrous rule, like, for example, a vehicle driving without taillights or a vehicle’s brakes failing due to a manufacturing defect.
