Obviously, there’s the concern of someone leaving the crash scene. It’s not clear who that is or their relation to the crash, but at the very least they could be a vital source for getting the victim’s loved ones some answers. Single-vehicle wrecks are rarely as simple as folks may think. It could be something as simple as speeding or distracted driving. It could be something complex, like a mechanical defect or a driver being unlawfully over-served by an alcohol provider. One way or the other, investigators need as much evidence as possible in order to ensure a victim’s loved ones know they’re getting the whole story. Finding someone who left the scene may be just one piece of the puzzle, but it’s likely an important one.
